Hiya …i know what your saying about the bedfords folding easily, but dont make the truck so bad.
I had 3 (rough)KM.s over a 2 year period and that never happend to any of mine.they’ve made alot
of money for many companys.
John
I agree with John,Dont know how any of them accidents happened with them Bedfords ,but i think what ever they were ,most of the makes of trucks at that time that had similar accidents would have resulted in the same sort of damage , in the early 70s, they were very popular for many hauliers.

As you both say the Bedfords were no worse than any other lorry of that period regarding folding in an accident. The K series Dodge and D series Ford were very similar, any impact and the cab was a write off. Any forward control lorry hasn’t any protection in an accident.
Cheers Dave.
hiya dave , the lad cabbed albions and leylands were as tough as old boots , i had a head on crash in one and never got a scratch . the commer i collided with was smashed to bits . the first of the nine lives gone ! cheers , dave

Hi again,Phil’s come up trumps with the SMASHing pictures ,heres another few oldies.
hiya,
Marc remember this little C&D motor but never got a go in it.
thanks harry long retired.
I drove one just like that for a man in Swindon years ago, It went well I loved it at the time.
Hi John, is it just me that thinks the Dodge grill makes it look the most unhappy of the lad cabs. It looks as if it is frowning, must of been a she I reckon.!
Does anyone refer to their motors by he/she these days, or good old bus etc?
Marcus I think that was the best ever “British” wagon especially when the 14 ltr. ■■■■■■■ and twin spitter were in it as you had the DAF cab for comfort and excellent drive line no computer 's controlling things everything down to the driver and it was such a shame when it took so long to get it right and then become extinct so soon after. It still looks the part and although it is nearly 20 years old it does not look out of place with what is on the road today.
cheers Johnnie
