G’day Oiltreader,
I’m pretty sure that the war time snaps are Chev’s,they are called ‘Monkey Nose’ Chev’s due to the strange bonnet set up. Ford may have also assembled some too. There is another simular 4x4 called a Chev ‘Blitz’ that Ford also assembled.

My first thoughts were Morris but in wartime the same wd spec would be issued to several manufacturers hence the same looking vehicle would be made by many firms and not badged to identify---------------Toshboy

This is my grandson, & as you can see I have him learning the haulage business, He likes the photo of the crane, he took it to school to show his pals, hes nearley 22 now, In the RAF, based at Lossiemouth. Regards Larry

This is one like I learned to drive in -took it on the road on my own when I was 14. Went for a drive around the town on the way home I was followed by a police car.I pulled over by the football ground ,they passed me & carried on. Got home & my mother was ballistic but my old Dad couldn’t have cared less.
'Orrible thing V8 petrol engine & cable brakes! Used to shunt it around Covent garden .
