Hi , just spotted this and have had a wee dig into my photos.

I have been fortunate to be given a lot of pictures of timber trucks from around my home area of Argyll.

These are some of the older trucks and i will post some of my own pictures of the newer ones again.

Sorry for so many lol.

My first Timber job was with Eddie MacGinty in Lochgilphead.

I was recently talking to him and managed to get some of the many pictures of his old trucks.

My first Artic , A84 LSB . a 16,321 thought i was king of the road with this .

JGG978Y another 321 sadly written off on the M74.

The F7

Here seen towing an ERF E14 , 350 ■■■■■■■■

The ERF , pride and joy of my mate Neil Munro ( someone had to love it lol).

My next truck C932PSB , a 16 , 331 it had a low ratio diff and pulled like a train.

My next Timber truck, D861OGB a 19,361 long chassis and air suspension , a dream on the road lol.

Sorry about the fat git in front of the truck :frowning:.

A move to a newer breed P176BSB , a 403 , started life as a 4x2 and had the extra axle fitted when the weighs
went up to 41 ton.

I am loaded here with a load of log poles ( basically the whole tree with the branches cut off) on route to Carlisle.

A newer motor again , a new TGA in October 2002 , 460 bhp made this a nice truck.

A picture on the day it was delivered

Another taken loaded with 3m pulp for Irvine.

Sadly this truck was written off not long after i left and went with Mckerrals :frowning:.

The Foden Loader …Eddies pride and joy.

Based on an ex military DROP.s 8x6.

Here waiting to load in the wood on loch awe.

.

The 361 coming into load loch awe again.

E194BTV , a 16 , 291 gettin tipped at Ardrishaig.

The Foden double drive , think this was one of the first 3000 series double drives made.

Some of the yard , P177BSB ( 403), N…VSB (422) , R144PSB (403) , foden (350 ■■■■■■■■■

F784SVH a 332 , came second hand as an ex car transporter with the roof cut down ( leaked like a sieve ).

This picture it has had a new roof fitted , waterproof at last lol.

The Atki , ex Wilsons fuel tanker.

Here unloading fert above inveraray with H***HNK another 332.

The 362 , ex Craigs of denny motor.

Atki and FL10 tipping on a Timber barge.

The FL10 ,8 wheeler tipping on the barge again ( white cab as it was rolled nr Fortwilliam).

R144PSB new to Peter Gauld , till he got the 460 TGA when i left.

Some more random , loading Timber Barges and boats.

The barges were run by Glenlight shipping and loaded at Ardcastle on Loch Fyne and Torrisdale on the Kintyre
Peninsula.

J G Brollys LHD F12 loading here , was imported from Sweden and is slowly roting away at his farm now :frowning:.

The Late " Archie Ferguson " of Fergusons transport Spean Bridge , loading at Ardrishaig.

Crash ,Bang , wallop … B552MSB came to a sad end outside inveraray.

Tommy Stewart , of L,F STEWART, Dalavich ,Having a wee off day !.

Some more of L,F STEWARTS

Sme old ERF,s i have been told these pictures were taker 1971,72.

My work mate Peter Gauld ( Len Stewarts Grandson) standing in front of an 8 wheeler.

A proud pair of drivers showing off their trucks.

The trucks parked at Dalavich village.

Big loads !

Now to the cowal side , from Strachur.

McNab and Weir.

Scania 81 with a load of logs.

Jst get all over the place with their mobile loaders, on that ship I posted and others I’ve been on since they have loaded/unloaded us in places ranging from Inverness to Youghal, Londonderry to Swansea, Kyle of Lochalsh to Plymouth. That ship would not pass her ‘MOT’ unless the Irish owner would spend some money on her, so she has gone looking for new owners somewhere they aint fussed about condition.

Hi Dingo I think that Albion o Mcnab’s was featured in an advert either for Albion or the crane maker. Brilliant photos Macginty’s were smart motors it was a nice colour scheme the big Foden that did the loading was a real butch machine.Eddie.

Heres a couple of Peter Gilbertsons 580 in the snow. Dan
