Scania Beautys

Still in use on a farm.

kindle530:

I haven’t seen a paint job for several years incorporating the word ‘INTERCOOLER’ emblazoned across the front! Good work! A “We’re riding on Bandags” sunstrip would finish it off nicely
Nice pics all.

And in with the new…

Must admit, I’m not the biggest fania Scania, but that’s very nice! And the nod to the 2/3 series with the roof lights hasn’t gone unnoticed either

very nice indeed! nice and low as well, tht sets it off. But what is the ‘custom built’ bit about■■?

Maybe they took it all apart, then rebuilt it without the suspension  Yeah I wondered that, especially 2 years worth. The ‘low rider’ look definately looks the business, especially so since it’s not a ‘mega’ spec, just low. And what’s that in the lower collar-fairing, above the catwalk? A light?

…actually looking again, with a little less hangover, it is ‘mega’ spec, isn’t it?

my mate Ray is now selling this, it runs at 4metres pulling IRF ferry trailers, the tyres are roughly 60 or 65s instead of 80s, and it has a lower 5th wheel and its not a mega spec.
rjmcommercials.co.uk/html/fh13.html

as opposed to a ‘normal’ spec FH pulling ferry trailers that run at around 4.15mtr
i bet if the Volvo was side by side with the Scania, they would both be the same chassis/5th wheel height.
if the Scania was low ride, the trailer would be ‘nosediving’ at the front and the back would be up in the air. i think it is basically the same spec as the FH above, lower profile tyres and 5th wheel.
still cant see 'owt custom about it thou
yeah, it does look like a spotlight in the botom of the side spoiler.

these are my last three scanias

Can’t seem to get that link fella, but had a look at his site and I see he’s running Mr. Bloomfield’s old 4-series topline, with the green stripes. I could kick a stone and hit his house from here  …as long as he didn’t have his R-series parked in front of it.
I know what you mean about the trailer not nosediving, I think that’s what led me to my original conclusion. And I think you’re right, a tyre change and lower fifth wheel would probably result in what we see here.

Wayne is Jamies stepbrother, and the FH in the link must’ve been sold as its not on the site for sale anymore! bloody good motor whoever bought it!
