philberg182: If ever there was a case for NOT letting drivers install their own CB radios etc…that looks it with that burnt Europe Flyer. Seen that result it many a time.

I Think the Sties 141 is ex Europe Flyer, it was damaged in a fire when Europe Flyer owned it and then refurbed into Sties livery
I found these pics on the net, i will gladly remove if i have offended anyone who owns pics
Same wagon, different reg?
Looks like it’s still in service here:
Looks like Europe Flyer is a different truck, restored in the image of the de Kok one and a very good replica at that- apart from the wiring loom! Nice to see it looking beautiful again in the Sties livery.
Maybe it was originally P.B. KOK . It was restored by Leo Bol in 2005 for Europe Flyer , then restored again recently by Leo Bol again for Timmerman. Don’t they run the black Scanias with blue stripes ? But still a beauty whatever

That’s what I thought, but the two lorries have different registrations, both Dutch. The Europe Flyer pic I posted shows it (on the grass, in front of the tents) without many of the accessories, making me think it was freshly-restored then, and the bits and bobs were added later to mimic the style of the original PB Kok vehicle. Plus, I have just noticed that the “new” lorry seems to be shorter in the wheelbase! The PB Kok one is indeed a stunner- with its trailer it looks every inch the king of the road, as they say in the adverts.

Maybe Mr Jarman would lend it to me for a bit, I could do a couple of trips and get it all messy for him, it’s a win win really, I could earn a few quid doing a LDD, as well as making it look better, it would also add to the value of the motor as it would then be authentic Astran and it’s bloody freezing up here now and I could do with a bit of nice weatherEither that or I’ll pop down and cancel a few weeks with Gavin
Ere you go then
My 3.4m Danish Spec 6x2, 141 parked up in Saudi. I loved that long wheelbase, check the size of the running tank !!
Now get your arse down here for a “cancel”

unusual name on a Norwegian motor - first name ■■■■ Odd?!
Thats what i thought at first Andy, but after a bit of research i found it is not uncommon - how strange is that?
Whenever I see a lift axle it takes me back to the good old days before aids, terrorism, cab phones, global warming, camion wine drinking laws, silly rest periods & EEC invasion were invented. When I drove a lift axle on TIR I used to get up at 7 ,Routier breakfast & on the road by 8, drive til 12 ,eat drink until 2, on the road til 7,eat drink until 9, on the road til midnight & do it all over again next day. With the current rules I would be starting the week at seven in the morning & with the silly rest periods end up stariting a 3 in the morning, & so on.
