Hi Stacked it, I think that photograph must have been taken after Brian sold it (i could be wrong), I don’t remember it being grey at the bottom and one thing I do remember is that Brian liked to keep his motors tidy regardless of the work they did
Agree. I know that Brian sold it in 1984 and this photo was taken in 1985. Strange though as DVLA website says last taxed in 84. It has also had some changes since this photo was taken. 1 it has two large fuel tanks fitted and 2) a home made bumper to replace the Aki one.
I would love to find the missing years but very happy to have what I have so far.

that would make sense - I remember it with its original bumper, don’t forget that it was not unusual for hauilers who were mainly based overseas not to tax the vehicle and take the risk (Dow freight anyone ) back in those days
Just a short update. Got the paint on and the new engine in last weekend. Also completing the re-cored radiator and finally fitted the new clutch.
Great, wont be long now That cab looks superb.
Taking a break from work so I thought I would post an update. Cab is almost there now so soon I will be bolting everything back together.
Also, another interesting picture turned up on the Astrans FB page. We think this is JVM 906V. west of Bagdad in the desert parking area around 1980. Brian can not fully confirm however but he said it might be his driver. Great pic nevertheless.
