Hiya,
Kev no need for the metal headgear as far as I’m concerned the
Europeans were always in competition with the Americans who
could produce the ugliest “les modes transportes”. Er’ Kevin is
that tin hat going begging.Maybe you’ll appreciate this Albion Harry
Hiya,
An acceptable shed for a european would it be still badged as a
“Reiver” being as it’s an Albion.
Guess so Harry, apart from the cab, nothing else was changed I believe.

For those interested in heavy haulage
Great pic’s Senior, cheers!
This has been put on the Heavy Haulage thread a while ago, but just for some information this unit was brought over to the UK for Magnaload to assist with movement of various vessels etc. to the Oil terminal at Milford Haven my uncle had the pleasure of driving it and loved it. I built a model of it for him in the Magnaload colours that it was given.

A crane used by the SNCF, but what exactly is it…?
Probably a Berliet-powered Griffet. They were quite common at a time, especially to lift barges or boats.

I bumped into this yesterday, who knows more about it?
A railcar built by Michelin and fitted with rubber tyres.

That’s a good model, very realistic and close to the real thing, what cab did you use, the doors look very GuyBJ…?

The FTF used the Motor Panels cab which was used by a few companies at the time in some form or other including ERF and Scammell. The model did start out as a Scammell Crusader kit and has been modified to the FTF.
The Scammell Crusader, French Mack and ERF NGC European used the tall version of the full-width Motor Panels Mk 4 cab; whereas the ERF 5MW cab and the FTF used the short version of it. Guy, Seddon etc used the narrower shorter cab.

If you go to utube, type in “france: tyred trains - French invention 1931” there is 40 second video on a similar train…

Two more to keep Harry satisfied
The badge on the front looks familiar- which coachbuilder has a badge like that, I wonder?
An Unic prototype fitted with a Leffondré cab. Certainly a very good visibility, but it also could have competed for the ugliest truck of its year (1950s)!
Will need a little attention and elbow grease before being back on the road.
An antique Saurer timber carrier working with a gas generator, operating in the Morvan area. Certainly a relief for its driver when his working day came to its end!
