Morning Gentlemen, Robert, nice picture. Taken at the test track at Valbonne, and the 356 wears the “new” livery for the Arabian market, (and the sand tyres). This vehicle went to Iraq,on the back of the water pipe deal. Surprisingly when they had sand rubber, they drove well on tarmac…talk about wide wheels!!!

At the back is a GB, running destruction testing on suspension components on the Pave…not that anything ever broke on GBs suspension…16 leaf springs!

Cheeerio for now

An example of a Renault Mack MS built in Normandy and sold in the US.

On the US market, you could get 3 “Club des Quatre” models as Iveco-Magirus,Renault and Volvo sold them in North America.

Saviem, Saviem where for art thou, tizz been a whole month with no posts from your boundless knowledge and witty comments, trust you are in good health and if so please let us all know do enjoy reading your inputs as I am sure do countless others of these threads, best regards Buzzer.

Well said, buzzer. He’s probably in a panic trying to lift the spuds he should have harvested last August!

I should hope that by now the delayed spuds have been lifted!
It seems like Father SAVIEM hasn’t been on here for a while. I miss his bollinger-inspired inputs, he even doesn’t appear on the BERLIET thread which he used to enrich so frequently
I just hope he’s okay and hasn’t been bullied by his East European nurse/witch doctor too much!

Probably planting first earlies for this year at the moment, most potato growers are planting.

Letter in the mail today about an American visiting a potato grower on the Isle of Skye. As the grower was pulling up the potatoes, the American commented ‘we grow spuds three times that size back home’ - the comeback was, ‘yes, we also grow them to fit the size of our mouths!’

Well said that man, Regards Larry.

Hope to get my computer back this week, it was hit by one of those blackmail viruses, they knobbled all my pictures / documents and demanded 500$ to get them back…so, l’ve lost most of them…baststewards.
Hope one of two things happen to them,
One, they meet a beautiful women, fall in love, and the first time they go for it, their gonads fester, drop off, followed by their entrails, and they take two weeks to die…
Two, they meet my ex wife, and marry the bit*h, then they’ll wish they had the first option… :smiling_imp:

Anyway, if all goes well, I’ll be posting up more pics of French trucks soon…

Fergie

Just a tad bitter, Fergie?

A decent computer fixer will be able to get your data back. I had a fit with mine and punched its lights out. For about £100 or so, it was fixed with all the files intact, near enough. This might cheer you up:

A tourist came into my local and said, “This town is a s**thole”. “Just passing through, are you?”, I said.

The town is a s**thole. I get the opportunity to make that joke about once a year.

Naaaaa… no chance, this was a particular nasty piece of work, the guy fixing it is pretty good, writes programme etc, pretty switched on, but he couldn’t save everything…

Only very slightly, pal.

We still have no word on our spud growing friend, does any one know if he is ok. Perhaps the French air traffic control strike have stopped his supply of Bollinger being parachuted in, Buzzer.
PS. put my spuds in this weekend with the help of the better half.

Busy weekend, too, Buzzer. Managed to get the onions & shallots in, plus half of the spuds.

Evening Gentlemen,

Buzzer, ROF, I am afraid that I am somewhat depleted from my old self. The head but, from 11 ft that I managed to do on the new tarmac of the A 449 actually did some damage to me.

So much so, that my (new), Doctor , (from the East…and that a`int Peterborough), recommended to my good lady and daughter, that I should refrain from, “verk”…or he vil be in ze little, (I am rather short of stature…but it is not nice having it pointed out to one)! box of vood…saves on gas at the crem!

So last Lady Day, (following a Family Board decision), I rented the bulk of the Farm out to a local enterprise…along with my great staff…and the tractors and implements have all gone to make the Auctioneers “fatter”…(at least their wallets)! I have kept a bit back, plus around 30 acres for my Organic Hay…But frankly I feel as miserable as sin!..And as only once before, (when I sold the Truck Leasing business), simply de motivated.

So I am building the wife a new Greenhouse…reclaiming some scrub land…and starting to go through my old diaries, and documents, and trying to make sense of my notes, from years ago. Perhaps over the time that I have left I could occasionally share some of them with you all. Perhaps they may throw a slightly different angle on what is perceived to have happened with various lorry manufacturers, and raise a smile at the antics of this, (then) very youthfull lorry driver at large in the Europe of the 60s.But thanks for your kind wishes.

Cheerio for now.
