These pic’s were hanging on the wall of a Les Routiers in Cuisery, tidy line up, but I didn’t recognise any of them… I’m sure someone else on here knows a bit more…

LV in front of the Dutch (Beers) Scania-Vabis importer in The Hague.
The Dutch dairycompany “Friesche Vlag” had a license to produce/bottle
“Rivella” (a by-product in milk) and sales for the lower countries.

Aye, that really is the max for those trailers… to be honest, it’s actually a bit too heavy, I’ve been driving behind my colleague for the whole day, and he really struggles to get uphill, bearing in mind he’s only got 410 horses under the bonnet… but more importantly, the back end of the trailer keeps on “dancing” with that weight on… only a matter of time before things start to break I reckon…

Cheers mate, quite fancy me Volvo to now after a bit of getting used to… really miss the double drive part though, really have to think about where to put the centre point of the weight now, and when the road is a bit moist it tends to miss traction… ooh and that hidious gearbox doesn’t help much either… nope, still not a fan of those auto 'boxes…

My guess for the cab is Büssing


After browsing through hundreds of truck pictures, I think the cab in the Genève cab fitted on manu UNIC models during the '60s, like this Vercors T 11 RA. It’s the only one which combines a curved windscreen and a protruding roof with a gutter.

Another picture of the same truck, in fact a 1950 Latil H2 powered by a Gardner 6 LW rated at 130 bhp at 2000 rpm. Latil merged with renault and Somua to form SAVIEM, but not before 1955. The cab, and possibly the tank, was made by Carrosserie Villard; rather a success, to my opinion.

This truly shows the craftmanship of building such a elegant cab, how sad it is that there’s nowt left of such a industry…
