SAT-NAV WITH FULL EUROPEAN

I have a Tom Tom with central Europe on, very good in Poland, certainly covers the villages and small roads, have a Navigon as well, but has a habit of sending you up fire tracks, certainly in southern Poland. The Tom Tom site a list of different maps and the size of them which is important if your device does not have an SD slot.

Navigon have a truck style map add on, but its not actually working in Poland for sure, not tried the TomTom Truck in Poland.

Bigvern1 seems happy with his Navigon, but mine would have me going through a forest on a fire track to get out my village, it seems too iffy for me until it hits a major road, in the 3 years I have been living in Poland the TomTom maps are grown very well, living in a small out of the way location I have to recommend them, it choses the routes I would from a map.

BUT, you need to make sure the map on the device is the correct one…

You can change it in settings there is an option of using dirt tracks or not.

Nope, all settings result in the same thing Orys, its mostly fine once your out of the sticks. An example of its routing is off the expressway towards my village which is straight down an A road and turn right after 10km, the route it chooses is turn left after 5km, travel 5km and turn right onto a fire track and rejoin the correct road via the church yard with 3km still to go, no amount of setting of settings will change its mind on that route. The unit as the latest software and this quarters map update, its routing to Poznan is not good enough for me to trust it. My opinion only Orys, if I followed its route out of the village I would require a chainsaw.

Maybe, so far I can’t complain for my Navigon and I can’t say this about Tom Tom when EE is considered.

In mine when I switched off that option it then ignored the forrest tracks and sent me around via the tarmac roads, so it seems to be working on mine…

Have to beg to differ dear Orys, maybe the Navigon model has a bearing, but I bought mine in Poland, the mapping that is now used on TT is very good, 2 years ago, my village was not marked with a road and of course a lot of new roads missing, but its much, much better. I did a lot of research on the Navigon before I bought it and its not lived up to what it promised so far.
