Well i did it yesterday, and failed !. First test i have ever failed in my life i think. I think the two blokes who do it are a couple of right union types who basically hate all agency drivers. Anyway the score was that 3 of us turned up at 7 in the morning and went to a classroom where we spent about 4 hours being instructed about drivers hours and WTD. Loads of dire threats that if you get the WTD wrong you will be fined £10,000 but eventually had to admit that no one has actually been prosecuted yet. Then had a 50 question test of which you have to get at least 35 right to pass. I did, the other two didn’t so they got sent packing. So we are up to about 5 hours before we get near a vehicle. First thing is you have to inspect it, including taking of the fuel filler caps to ensure it has a rubber sealing ring in. I’m not joking. I then have to do a reasonably tight reverse on to a bay, you get 12 minutes. So i do that in about 2 and off we go out of the gate. Well to cut a long story short, it all goes fine until we get to a mini roundabout where you have to take the first exit, sharp left. The exit has high kerbs on the nearside and a low one to the offside, you probably have about 4 inches more than the width on the vehicle (it’s a residential area). I got the unit through but just managed to but the centre axle only of the trailer about 1 inch on to the offside kerb. That’s it failed. When we got back i told the bloke it’s idiotic, you know i can drive and i know i can drive but your just looking for a reason to fail people for some unfathomable reason. I would wager that if they sent all there existing drivers round that roundabout 75% would put a wheel on the kerb. It’s obvious some engineer has got the radiuses slightly wrong and they know that and use it to prove some sort of point to there bosses.
A total farce, i shan’t go back.

dude, sorry to hear you failed, but f*ck em all. if you was at emerald park the DHL assesors are tossers!failing drivers keeps theese people in a job. if they was to pass all drivers and fulfilled the driver requirment totall they would have nothing to do but then the TM would have asked theese knobs to go out and do the deliverys if they was short on drivers… and belive me driving assesors think they are above the normal driver status and can not be looked at as “A DRIVER” again. as for the seal on the fuel cap… VOSA CASHPOINT!!!
