Do you know if you can park up at the Messe for the duration of the show?
You need to head for the Paul Henri Spaak Strasse. Exit 6 Feldkirchen West from the A94: google.de/maps/place/Paul-H … 4774ee7a5f
You must approach from the A99 as driving through the city in a truck is viewed as extreme naughtiness and will cost you a fistful of Euros.
When you turn into the road you will see the Messe buildings on your left and a vast open area on your right. This is where you can park up.
There are numerous entrances to this area, if a barrier is down just potter along until you find an open one. Just drive in and find yourself a spot.
There may be some little elves clad in high viz to welcome you depending on what time you turf up.
As Saturday 3rd October is a public holiday (German reunification day) with its attendant truck ban you will find a lot of trucks already parked up on Friday for a Sunday load in.
You can park here for free for the duration of the Messe. You can park inside the Messe but that is subject to a charge.
A short walk will get you to the underground station which is next to the main entrance.

Spot on information Inselaffe… I got to gate 15 at the Messe just after 3AM Monday where I needed to tip, Parked up directly opposite, pulled the curtains around and got my head down until required to set up later on.
Due to various issues and lost time I went straight through France via Metz and ended up getting to the French German border Saturday evening where we were parked up until 10 PM Sunday night by the French Police … Unfortunately this also meant that I missed Oktoberfest
I caught the train from the Messe into Munich and have a few beers so it was not a total loss… before catching the train to the airport and flying home.
I am flying back out at the weekend for the show breakdown and return journey where I will try the suggested route as I am not really under such a deadline.
