Cockney Pete3:
Slightly more modern colour view of the works and all that’s left now is the brick buildings in the bottom right. Will be houses before long
Morning Pete,
Thanks for the picture of Butterley’s, sad to see another world famous engineering company reduced to rubble
I think Chris is still pining for the Ripley pig! Cheer’s Pete
Dear me Pete , nowt so common as an IS200 , mine is the RX400H . If you’re going for luxury , go the whole hog with all the bells an whistles , it’s like a dodgem , press the pedal and turn the wheel to go . In my ancient and decayed condition it’s ideal .

Hello Dean,
I have the article in my attic archives about this load for Pountains.
Taking storage vessels for the Scottish and Newcastle brewery in Edinburgh and the pain of planning Princess Street traffic lights etc.

Put a twin splitter in it Dave.
Chris,
Dave is keeping up with modern times, no twin splitter just a D-N-R switch!
Great bunch of lads on Caddies, often used to load in the same packhouses as them in Italy and Spain, one guy who had a LHD 111 gave me a sidelight/indicator lense for my Transcon, I didn’t need one, but he had one under his bunk and insisted on giving it to me. It was a bit surreal, a bloke in a Scania having a lense for a Transcon was strange enough, but walking over and knocking on my door while doing revision in Spain and handing up to me was even more strange.

Thank you Dean and Mark for the comments and pic of Cadwalladers, Pete
That ERF is at least ten years old in the photo, by that time the B and C series had come and gone and the E series was the current model, that was a huge gap in creature comforts and power compared to the difference between an 08 and an 18, which haven’t really changed much apart from being more complicated and less reliable.
