Yep and I only had a little 550hp to pull it with
Just put 'er in overdrive and go to sleep!
Harry Monk:
I have a friend who does it, an owner-driver. He enjoys it, and it pays reasonable money, but he says that the problem is that you are doing everything at the wrong time, working, sleeping, eating.Every time he comes back off of a tour, he has put on about three stone and he looks grey and exhausted.
Puts on 3 stone!!! Does he drive a black Fh per chance!!!
I got catering every day and we got a hotel every night too, same hotel as the star, very nice
^^^^ typical cockney blagging !
Some of us have to sleep in our trucks ya know !!
(I may shave my head and grow a ponytail for Toby )

That’s the fella!
A few years back the Rolling Stones toured the uk. They shipped their equipment from the US to the UK in containers. Jmd got the job of hauling it from seaforth on to all the concerts in the country, the lads loved it!
Search for posts by Euromat, he does this work and has posted a few diaries of his trips.
As stated before its days nights afternoons, it’s the only job I know where I have to check my phone to see what day I’m in as they all roll into one and you lose track.
You have days where you may load Saturday morning and not load in till Monday night so you sit with the load on wheels somewhere for a couple of days, then there are other jobs were your there on site like my longest was 6 days, with a pass that gets you anywhere and catered for.
It’s a funny job and you do start to get to know the crews as they work world wide so there are chances for some good nights out!
It’s not for everyone but I like it.
I know its prob different for every concert but what would be typical time away from home and what is the pay like
is it all sleeping in cabs or do you get hotel and for rest periods away from home do you get paid?
Anyone ever do the film or tv industry
Pay is good
Where I am we sleep in the trucks
Away at the moment for 5 weeks but can be much longer
It’s not a job for everyone but if its what you want to do I can thoroughly recommend it

Pay is different at each firm and you also get PD on some jobs were this means you make extra money anything from roughly £30-80 extra a day on top of your day rate.
The job is a dodle but being away from home is a big part of it, when in full swing you’re talking months not weeks.
Only bit of any tv work I’ve done was the BBC sports personality of the year award, was interesting mingling about while it’s all cracking off.
The main thing I like is your treated like a Human being and not like dog tod like every other part of our industry!!
