RIP true old school lorry man

I also never knew him but I send my condolences to his family at this sad time. R.I.P.jack a job well done.
regards dave.

What a shame another proper lorry man gone never met him but it says it all that not one person has a bad word to say about him, drivers can always find something bad about bosses but not this one I just finished after 50years on the road and his trucks where always about RIP Jack

R I P my thoughts are with the family at this sad time as has been said a true gent i have never heard a bad word said about him

RIP to a great name in the industry

RIP Jack Richards.

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr Richards and Denny when they invited REVS over to the museum.

A gentleman who as others have said people don’t have a bad word to say about.

Hopefully ( if there isn’t already ) a book about his life would be a great read.

Hear-hear too

I was in and around Norfolk the day that their regional East Anglia newspaper (the ‘Eastern’ something) printed a tribute - and felt much admiration & sadness at losing this gentleman, as well as for his bereaved family, friends and workforce too.

As I was leaving Norfolk on a glorious, evening-time drive, dozens of opposite passing - and very tidy Jack Richards combinations left me at a loss as to how to pass my condolences to those drivers.

Bless him and his very positive legacy

Eastern Daily Press? Is the museum visitable?

Very sad news indeed. He created a well recognised brand on our road network and was highly regarded in his expertise.

My thoughts are with Mr Richards family and friends.

R I P Sir. You have and still are providing a lot of drivers with work. One of the last true family hauliers . My Sympathy to all The Richards Family on Jacks Passing. A current driver.

Not to sound offensive, but alot of these drivers kept him and his family comfortable … the founder would of worked 18 hour days (with all other business issues not driving) getting it up etc, but others do not show same values as in 1956, JR to do would go to pot without the poor drivers slogging there guts out for a pittance of a wage !

I worked for Jack for 16 years and never thought i was working for a pittance. Ask the drivers who worked there for up to 35 years if they thought they were being exploited. We all thought sometimes things could be better but overall it was a bloody good firm to work for

I’m vaguely curious if you knew or worked for the man?

We’re all parking up at 1130 tomorrow as a mark of respect.
