Thing that passengers at Lisbon airport used to see when they exited the building was, a shanty town in the middle of the motorway. It was the same south of Madrid, a huge expanse of people living in huts made from pallets and plastic sheets. They were all bulldozed some years later. The view changed but the homelessness and poverty never went.

Yeh yeh yeh, I learnt very early on that agents were full of ■■■■ and not to be trusted at all. Bimble up there gently stopping for mucho cafe solo on the way. In summer I’d find a swimming pool and go for a dip. Get there, have supper, load and go to sleep outside.
