Have been posed the following question on an application form, not sure if it’s been asked to catch people out anyway what do you guys think - If you started your shift on Monday at 06:00hrs and worked untill 21:00hrs. Took a rest period untill 08:00hrs the following day, would you have taken a rest period in a 24hr period? Thanks in advance.

You would have had a reduced daily rest period of 9 hours.
After 21:00 only 9 hours fits into the 24 hour period from 06:00

The above answer is correct unless you had managed to get 3 consecutive hours rest in during the shift, in which case it would be a split daily rest period rather than a reduced daily rest period.
