Renault T Range Beauties (or Ugly Duckling)

They look as though they are running on sour milk

Parked at Goodwood FOS, mate of mine was driving it, and was also have a night out in it, probably the first and last time anybody will have a night out in it while at Red Bull. He was complaining that the bunk was a bit narrow until I got in and showed him how to pull it out.

Saw one of these on the Train a few weeks back, looks really good in the flesh so to speak, then found a photo on this website

This one also from the Renault website.

Can see that a narrow bed would be a bit of a pain, but too down tools and sit cross legged beside it is a bit much, Or was he getting ready to go Walk about

Well in my honest opinion the C-series that L-Lynch have has been the worst choice don’t get me wrong they have some fantastic ideas in the cab
Cooled seats brilliant in the summer.
memory setting from your didgi card so if some ■■■ changes the setting on your dash they come back to what you set
useful upper bunk as its foldable
Bed is the best I have slept on even better than the Daf
Passenger leg room is very good and the air seat for the passenger not a crappy fixed job

Now the bad bits
Fuel and adblue consumption is crap OK 4.1mpg for a heavy haul (avg of 65ton loaded 25ton empty) motor but the Volvo’s and Daf’s are doing around 5.7mpg adblue is empty 60lts with 500lts of fuel used
1 of the 14plates had a new engine fitted in Dec15 with only 102,000 on the clock loads of electrical faults and ABS probs
Mine has cracked 2 5th wheels and is on its 3rd also it’s now getting electrical faults drivers door window go’s up and down on its own the automatic lights are a pain in the ■■■■ come on when you turn into your own shadow
Out side locker on the drivers side is crap my Mrs hand bad has more room
Fitted fridge is a nice touch but not tall enough to stand milk up
And why dose the radio only stay on for a hour when you switch of the ignition
Night heater settings are a pain the the ■■■■
Windows mist up in seconds when the engine has been switched off ■■?

Next bit we can blame the tAWt who spec’d the motors
The automated transmission is just bad on our job it should of came with manual option maybe ok for the London depot but not for us up in the Midlands
The Steel Spring setup for HH is a bad idea as the Volvo’s have air suspension whey not the Renaults ? Would be better for traction in my opinion

My motor LK15ENC (La Escargot) was delivered on 18/3/15 in general I would give it 6/10
