Even ND are now moving to DAFs so what does that tell you…!? They look absolutely ugly IMO, a real embarrassment to be seen in one. Volvo engines aren’t the best on fuel consumption I think, you can get better mpg in other types running @ 56 even…
Decent motors for decent drivers #simples!
That DAF probably offered Norbert Dingledangles a better deal than Renault did.
N.D 2012 Order for Renault is for 1300 vehicles

Why the daf then…■■?
N.D Group policy went from 2 preferred suppliers Renault & M.Benz to 3 - DAF

cant you go back to another Magnum? i think if i was tramping down to Greece (as i once did, for a year, in a SSC) I would pick a Magnum over a Premium if i was looking at Renault.
And i would imagine the driver would be happier with a Magnum?

Personally i look at the premium as an ideal double shift motor, not something for tramping in, i’d be insulted if that was what i was expected to live in.
Dont give a toss what engine its got in it, or what it looks like, but its got to be half decent inside, wide cab, fridge, ideally a top bunk. Medium height roof XF, tgx, highline etc, anything more is a bonus. Probably makes me sounds like a ■■■■ but surely if you’ve got a half decent driver its worth the extra to keep him happy and to keep hold of him,

Definitely. Sadly most places are happy with adjective ‘cheap’ these days rather than ‘decent’.
I drive for Nobbys and we have loads of them, the 460’s are much more ecomomical, about 1mpg extra. basic but a good easy tool to use.

I drive for Nobbies and I have an MAN. Not as nice as my old 105, but still a better workplace than a Renault IMO.
To me Renault is down there with the axors & the stralisis…
Why on earth anybody would want to buy into French engineering is beyond me, as said before they should stick to making cheese & wine…!
I like mine its slowly falling apart around me
