As you know Sundowner, most of the hard work is done by the volunteer Moderators and Admins.
The reason people keep using this website is because of the members and their posts, there is a huge number of members and non registered visitors who never post but come here to read the forums every day, it is the posting members that make the website as succesful as it is.
and yes we have our reward, TruckNet UK is more secure than it has ever been. that is the main gain to this change of ownership.
I just fail to see how a WWW. forum can fit into a publishers portfolio
This is nearly 2007, people dont just publish on paper anymore, times have moved on Electronic publishing is here
As it says in the statement TruckNet UK is only a part of a much bigger on-line presence for the transport industry planned by RBI and due to be launched in early 2007.
The whole world of information exchange is adapting to the electronic age and publishers that dont adapt with it will fall by the wayside.
As too how much RBI paid… read the statement again too the answer is there…
Hint… (an undisclosed sum)

So you will force for us to get a copy of the accounts and find out that way then!!! Not sure what the hush hush is for as it is/was a Ltd Co. so the info will come out to those who go looking for it.
To the Management, staff and membership of the TruckNet UK Drivers RoundTable, congratulations! On behalf of TruckNet, we wish you continued great success through out the years to come.
Much time, hardships, dedication and sacrifices went into building TruckNet UK to what it has become, which is Top Notch! May what is yet to come be all you wish it to be.

I’m glad that Trucknet has a secure future, and gald that Rikki and Lucy have one too
All everyone can do is wait and see what happens, but knowing Rikki I can definatly guarrentee that he hasn’t sold anyone down the river. Trucknet and it’s members mean more to him than anyone will know
You are entitled to your view Terry, even as the person who runs another website for drivers
My view is that TruckNet UK needs to move forward and grow, It needs marketing expertise to ensure its future, It needs web developement to bring it up to date, It needs exposure through more traditional media to ensure drivers can find us. it needs a place at the Truck shows for its members to be able to meet , it needs a backer who understands transport and drivers
With RBI it has all that. and much more
I am sure you will be happy on the drivers website you run if you dislike this website and its owners so much.
jammymutt:
By drivers for drivers (but for sale at the right price;)).
As are 99% of drivers. We would jump ship for a few pence per hour more in the blink of an eye.
Aye like we all stick together unless we can make a few pence eh?.
A bit like the PDA it will never do ■■■■ all as long as it asks drivers for money to join , but this site DID it was for drivers by drivers until a while ago when it got ■■■■■■ by the need for profit, the haulage industry will NEVER be united as long as people keep selling it out.
Long live ROBK at least he spoke from the heart as a trucker with no need for making profits just his heart speaking, where does this site leave the truckers■■? nowhere absolutely ■■■■■■■ nowhere Commercial Motor or whoever owns it now is only interested in one thing and its not the trucking industry its the profit they make from their sales .
Good plan Rikki nice retirement we will go on trying while you enjoy your future, For drivrs for Profit ■■■■ YOU.
