Just checking you can do 6days back to back ?
It could be something I’m going to do regularly do to other commitments, the pattern then would be
6days, 60 hrs weekly, 6days, 36hrs weekly, 6days, 60hrs weekly, repeat the pattern.
I think you’ll very quickly fall foul of the “in any two consecutive weeks you must have at least one full and one reduced weekly rest” rule if you do that.
For example, assuming you start week1 having just had a full weekly rest that counted for the previous week:
Week1: Work Mon-Sat, Sun off (reduced rest for week1)
Week2: Work Mon-Sat, Sun off
Week3: Mon off (giving you a full rest for week2) Work Tue-Sun.
Week4: Mon off (giving you a reduced rest for week3 as it started on the sunday), work Tue-Sun
Week5: Mon+Tue off (giving you a full weekly rest for week4 as it started on the sunday) work Wed-Sun
Week6: work Mon
And you’ve hit the problem - no weekly rest you can count for week5.
It is possible to have a full weekly rest which counts as the weekly rest for the forthcoming fixed week and then have a few weeks of - 6 on 1 off - 6 on 2 off - but it will eventually get to a point where a fixed week has no weekly rest counted for it

A weekly rest period shall start no later than at the end of six 24-hour periods from the end of the previous weekly rest period.

6days, 60 hrs weekly, 6days, 36hrs weekly, 6days, 60hrs weekly, repeat the pattern.
No mention of any start or finish days so forget that.
60hrs weekly rest - clean start
4days work - No problem if rest periods are taken
60hrs weekly - Full Weekly Rest
6days work = No problem, 6 days
35hrs weekly - Reduced Weekly Rest
6days work No Problem 6 Days
weeks holiday - Compensates for 10 hours from reduced weekly rest.
The other reduced rests are compensated fully with 5 hours to spare, even after the weeks holiday.
That is taken from the information supplied by the cat
Henrys cat:
Sat, sun, Monday for first weeky rest
then Sat Sun 2nd
Then sun for reduced
Finish for holiday on Sat night
Full
full
reduced
full
No probs there
If after the weeks holls you start back after sunday midnight you can count the last 45 hours of those holls as a full weekly rest for that first week back
That might allow you to play around a little with future weekly rests depending on how your shifts are done
If your weekly rest always includes sunday midnight then its possible at some point to do something like -
full weekly rest counted for week 1 at start of week
6 full shifts - week 1
reduced weekly rest - counted for week 2
6 full shifts - week 2
reduced weekly rest - not counted but needed for the 144 hours rule
6 full shifts - week 3
full weekly rest counted for week 3 at the end of the week
On the job we’re on, there’s no fear of that Malc. Even on the longest trunk the max is 7 hrs driving, can soon go on a shunt which is about 4/5hrs max, same with the WTD, more poa than work
