Shining Bank quarry near Bakewell Derbyshire now shut.

Hiya DF thought it had gone quite in Bakewell in the morning .

Ha ha yes no more wagons out of there anymore. The quarry hole is full to the top of water now.

Took this in Maltby colliery last year.

This tackle belongs to a lad I used to work for.

Chuck him a couple of caramels up,if he throws them back bugger of quick before he can dig into heap.
Obviously not open to kindness or bribery.
Here’s a couple of older Cat Face shovels at Foster Yeomans Merehead Quarry around the early 80’s I think.

This digs the gravel out at Gill Mill Quarry.

Foster Yeoman Merehead Quarry. Around the mid to late 60’s.,and not a foreign lorry on site and the Westerns
ruled the road with the stone trains.Bit different today. .Mike.
