Just downloaded the GHR app ready for when Ken starts on April 3…so no more live Radio 2 for me after years of being a regular listener. How long before Steve Wright in the afternoon makes an appearance there.
If you subscribe on the website and enter GUITAR in the promotion offer box, you’ll get 3 months premium membership on a free trial with no adverts.

Wave 105 has been airing them aswell being the same company as GHR
I see that Gary Davies is taking on the slot temporarily, until Vernon ■■■■ Kaye takes over to replace him permanent.
In footballing terms, it’s a bit like taking Lionel Messi off a pitch as a striker and replacing him with Chris Wood.
GHR is taking over my local commercial station. So I’ll be able to listen to popmaster on FM in the car.
Ten to the top bit of a flop in my book.
The replacement quiz for Popmaster.
Sounds like a bloody TV gameshow.
Bearable with Gary Davies hosting but I fear it won’t be half as good with Vernon.
They have tried to replace it with something over the top I feel. Trying to be too clever.
Who knows maybe I will still download the shows just to listen to it but I can’t say I’m a big fan of it so far.
I will of course continue to listen to Popmaster as some things just don’t need changing in my book. Popmaster has worked so well for so many years with very little change.

Not sure I agree with his comment on Sarah Kennedy and Terry Wogan, I think I was still listening to R1 in those days.

I wasn’t listening…
Myself this morning, apparently someone has scored 10 out of 10 in the new quiz. Needless to say social meeja is awash with claims of ‘she Googled all the answers’.
It was only a matter of time wasn’t it.
She’d have to be bloody quick with Google as they only get five seconds per answer. That’s google of Carryfast proportions to pull that off.

Yep Carryfast was on the other line. :
Listened to Ken’s last show this morning on ‘Listen Again’,.was reminded of the time when Rob Brydon stood in for him impersonating him on April fools day. …he took me in that day,.and when they played the clip, making out it was an old clip of Ken, the ■■■■ took me in again…but I thought at the time he sounded more Scottish in those days…then I cottoned on.
Bit dramatic, but end of an era,.reckon they’ve shot themselves in the foot.
I’ll carry on listening to Gary Davies then that’s my lot…I’m sure the BBCwill be devastated.
robroy:
Is Greatest Hits nationwide?
I’ll sometimes listen to Mark Goodier, Pat Sharp, and Simon Mayo.
I can only get it just over the border (where it West Sound radio,) then on the M6 I can get it from around Stafford to about Strensham M5, then again not until Bristol.
Is there an app for it to play through my phone and bluetooth?
You won’t be listening to Pat Sharp anymore he’s left with immediate effect.

I was listening to the ginger one on Virgin this morning and he was thanking the BBC because of what he termed “the Ken effect”. Basically he was saying that Virgins listening figures have gone through the roof this week as traditionally people went back to Radio 2 at 9.30am when Ken usually started, yet this week that hasn’t happened and people are tending to stick with Virgin throughout the day now.
