Who was that?
Was anyone charged or convicted of posting “a few hurty words”?
Is that like encouraging some to commit a crime? No real crime at all?
Just like the older drug dealers that get kids to carry for them, are not real criminals 'cause they only use words?
Why have you left out the Southport part of my quote? People posted on social media that it was a terrorist attack and they were instantly shut down as far right and in some cases people’s opinion on the matter landed them in jail. Those people have been proved right, although 2 tier Kier is still trying to spin that terrorism wasn’t involved.
Lots of people see your point. Just a select one of two on here who have backed themselves into a corner over the issue and can’t bear to admit they may be wrong.
Many do see and agree with @robroy, sure.
So what?
If you want some figures maybe 60% of the UK public would agree with peaceful protest.
But only 8% have sympathy for the rioters it seems.
Was anyone arrested for peaceful protest?
Charged, convicted, or imprisoned?
Why defend those who seek to get their own point of view across through violence?
That is not the way of the UK. If you don’t like the way the UK is run, bugger off to an Arab country with Richard Tice and his family.
Have the Police called it terrorism? Have the security services called it terrorism? No.
There may well be a discussion to have about what is and isn’t terrorism.
Seeking to further political ideologies through violence is one definition.
Just as the rioters did, when they used violence to make a political point…
That does not condemn all the rioters does it?
You seem to be siding with @robroy 's argument that many or at least were “normal” people.
Have I got that wrong, or right?
Would you care to clear up whether all rioting is wrong? Or do you contend that some rioting is OK because it is what “normal” people were doing?
You know full well what I meant and that I was condemning those doing wrong. You’ve decided to pick up on the fact my terminology and wording could have been better and are trying to spin it into something it’s not. Classic Franglais tactics when backed into a corner.
Silly half truth: The murderer of Jo Cox was not called a “white supremacist” just because of a magazine. It was also because of his books on Nazism, and regalia from that period, his links to US, and UK far right groups, and other evidence.
Nearly as silly as suggestions that UK citizens are locked up for “hurty words”.
No! I do not know what you mean, which is why I am questioning you, and allowing you to explain what you do mean.
You have used contradictory language because you are using self contradictory arguments.
You say that you condemn all violence in one breath and excuse those who use violence in another.
The very phrase “idiotic yobs among the protesters” gives the lie to it. No one was locked up for peaceful protest.
No one was locked up for " a few hurty words".
The reason you are having trouble explaining your thoughts in a rational fashion is that they are not self consistent.
I am not attacking the words used per se, I am pointing out that the words used appear to accurately describe inconsistent thoughts.
No, I’ll reiterate again, you know exactly what my point was and are pretending you don’t in your usual way just so you can argue for the sake of it. Either way I’m done on this one.
Hitler was a vegetarian, a dog lover, who liked children, and a painter.
He won’t be remembered for those things, nor will that change what we think of his other characteristics.
Rudakubana was indeed a Welsh choir boy , but that does not get us very far.
If anyone thinks that all Welsh choir boys must be nice then clearly they are wrong.
If we associate one characteristic, with other characteristics, we risk making mistakes.
Clearly not all veggie watercolourists are nice peaceful types, nor are Welsh choir boys all saints.
To call him a Welsh choir boy is accurate, but to assume that actually means anything much is the error.

It is a technique used a lot.
Here is a guy who likes footie. He drinks Fred’s beer.
If you like footie so should you.
This guy wants the UK to be better for us all. He wants cheaper food and better jobs. Do you too?
So support him in his party! Vote now!
Of course, any credible plan to achieve the common goal we all want is omitted.
Although Rudakubana’s actions did not meet the statutory definition of terrorism, Mr Justice Goose said: 'In my judgement his culpability for this extreme violence is equivalent to that of terrorist murders whatever his motives.
