polish drivers

There is some deal going on between the UK government and the Polish one to get workers here, where is Orys when we need him.?
If they are all here working, who is driving trucks in Poland and other jobs there.?

We have a polish driver driving for us, a large retail company, and to be fair he always has a smile on his face, works harder, faster, doesn’t complain and a genuinely pleasant guy to be around. A lot of the British drivers in my experience are moody, arsed and occasionally a bit of a nightmare. I’ve only had a small experience of working with Polish and I have to agree they will work harder for less money so it’s no surprise so many of them are getting ‘our’ jobs.

How come Poland doesn’t enjoy a fantasticly successful economy?

You’d think it would, apparently all of it’s workforce are descended from ‘Superman’.

They’ll work hard for not much in return, don’t mind getting dirty & will work all the hours God sends.

Maybe they’re all over here 'cos we have Eastenders & Strictly ‘X’ Factor on the telly?

Is it the thought of kissing Cheryls posterior that keeps 'em coming?

Can you imagine Petre Smythski LGV’ski Trainingski relocating from downtown Gdansk to Worksop & flogging LGV C courses for £500?

I suspect opinions would swiftly change.

being honest here as i work in the gatehouse. Most of the English Worker at my place Moan about basically every thing, they do small run they say five ■■■■■ down the road, Shaunting…and even if they do maidstone or newmarket or edinburgh they still moans like they wanted to go home early, Over Transport, even 10 to 12 hours is not enough for them, Come to the Polish now i just know their hummer they keep quiet even if they work 7 hours a shift they are still happy, when they get big run that is like a jackpot to them, doesnt show any sign of frastration or sign of anger towards anybody, that is my saying, The reason i started thinking of learning truck driving is this. all i am saying to english people if you cant beat polish then just be like them and start working like they do keep your head down and do the job. hope i didnt offend any1 thx

By the way My training starts from tomarrow and test will be on 5th day i am very nervous myself.

To concur they work harder,do not moan and get on with the job.I have found English drivers to talk behind your back, spread untrue rumours, treat the work place like a play ground.
You never see graffiti written in Polish in the loos at delivery points. If you owned a haulage firm, who would you employ. All Polish.
Or all English who want to go home early and are lazy.
When you pull in to tip all you get is an earful but the Polish will just get on with it without giving a sob or life story.

Chas… I’m impressed you used the word ‘coloureds’…lol havent heard that in a long time.

so am I . apparently its a racist term .either your very brave and not scared of the pc brigade, or your ignorant (of the fact) as I was . I recently read an article where a old dear using a supermarket delivery service ,rang the shop with a query and when asked who the driver was she replied “I don’t know his name but he is the really nice coloured chap”. she was promptly banned from the service as she was racist ■■?  iirc it was sainsberys. the worlds gone mad, I can remember when calling someone (black/brown ?) coloured was a polite description.

Any one know why there so many Polish drivers being sent over and trained up to drive HGV then given jobs, when there’s loads of British chaps looking for work ?

Haha that job looks mint !, anythink about 20K for 40/45 hours a week is good, end of days trucking is warm and easy. could be brick laying all day in the rain !

Hi everyone, slightly off topic here but does refer to Polish workers in UK. When I was a head loader at Gatwick we had Polish loaders there and I treated them like human beings. For example on a cold day I would put my hand in my pocket and send one guy up for coffees, also on a hot day send them up to terminal to get cold drinks for the guys. Now the saying what goes round comes round, like I got a flight on turnround my Polish workers would bust their rears off to get it out on time for me and I found that they were great hardworking fellas.

The other pressure british men have witch polish men don’t is that there polish woman accept there men have to be away working all week and surport them in this, thay respect and apricate a guy that wants to work alot as it helps improve the stanardof there life together. much like how british woman used too do once apon a time many many moons ago.

lets face it “most” british woman these days simply wont accept the working hours that come with the life of a lorry driver anymore, young farmers in this day and age have the same problem.

woman now are just happy to have a guy round for going out and having fun with. what the guy earns or the fact he works hard is secondary to whats inportant to them now. after all the wellfair state can offen provide better for them in most cases or thay can earn there own money to improve there living stanards. so why go out with a guy thats never around when thay want them to be ?

these days you have to be home every night and every weekend to go out friday night or so atleast she can go out while you look after the baby. if your not around for this thay will soon find someone that is.

if your wife or girlfriend can’t accept your working way of life what choice do we have but to want to avoid doing the long days and weeks away. its that or breaking up with your partner is’nt it ■■? or marry a polish lady maybe lol

@jrt
if you are after some stability and understanding why not get yourself a muslim woman.
They are known for not going out much , wearing a burka, so you don’t need to worry about them finding another man while you are out on the road, tramping.

Only problem I can see with that idea is if she was with any of her muslim friends how the hell would you know which one was her

She would be the one who was four steps behind you!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have had a driving job for the 7 months working for a market garden, they have had about 50 polish workers not drivers because the English will not do it. They come here work for 8 months send about £350 home each week which would take them 5 weeks to earn in Poland but you never here them moan they just get on and work. I have seen English workers come and by mid morning they give up and go home.
