It ay called a pikelet round ere (Dudley).
I’ve always known them as crumpets, mother in law always called them pikelets though, she was a brummie.

My wife is from lower Gornal and having asked she’s not heard of them as pikelets either. So I’m probably mistaken. A brummie of Irish decent I work with always calls them pikelets.

Definitely Pikelets in the West Midlands…although the term could also describe the young offspring of the “tarmac yer drive sorr !!!” fraternity
I always thought pikelets were a little thinner than crumpets - both yummy though
