I don’t dislike them but TBH would take one of the Volvos, as the gearbox is a lot quicker to shift, if that was on offer, we have several Stralis and one is constantly having computer problems. It seems to be the wiring loom connecting the seperate computers and then shutting down. The others are OK, I find the seat comfortable and the cab is spacious enough to live in, fridge works well, keeps up good speed etc. That one was a demo and has so many lights that in a narrow road the leaves start to curl up and fall off the trees, small plastic fittings on cars melt and the engine grunts, generating
Unfortunately we are not supposed to like the Stralis if we’re real truck drivers and it sort of feeds on itself, for the price it’s good value.

Ill most prob see you at some point as we go down to plym, truro, bodmin and launceston twice a week, and i pass you lot all the time (mostly going the other way!).
I think they are a great truck, as i pointed out in another thread! Thb nobody really makes a bad truck anymore, its going to be all down to personal preferance!

i like the stralis, but i think it depends on the one you get, if ya know what i mean?

the gearbox on the volvo i had saturday was really slow on the changes, and my old stralis was far quicker, but i did like the volvo too

the stralis i had was the active space cab without the passenger seat, and a “jump” seat in the rear. i loved the cab set up, plenty of room to move about. plenty of storage and comfy too. it never lost speed on hills either :smiling_imp:

Not that I know of even though it’s on the headline, only two man home deliveries for some of the flatpack companies and interior furnishings as well as the pallet/parcel distribution. It is amazing the diverse stuff that moves on the pallet network, ‘if you can balance it on a pallet’ :exclamation:

Ah right, i went to your depot with my Dad to have a look one weekend a couple months ago when i was staying in Bodmin Premier inn. The light bars make that Stralis stand out well in the fleet.

Yeah ive seen the 500 with the lightbars alot to, but never to wave to! Dont know whos in it!
Tbh i probably have seen your dads lorries, but, me being me, probably not took any notice! Ill keep an eye out from now on! :sunglasses:
I had a 480 Globey XL on an 05 plate for a week on demo, Its a very nice truck. I shift is a great box too. Id have one, but the stralis does the job just fine!

Hi Woodlands.
How many is Mark running now?
I drove his first artic, on the MFI contract between Bodmin and Avonmouth, that was his first depot in Bodmin,Dunmere Road.
I see you boys all over the place and was just curious as to how many he’s running and on what kind of work?

that big old daf thing looks like the bunk is massive. is that so? it looks like you get more room than a modern truck

Hiya theres quite a lot of room in the 3300 space cab but the bonnet has all the electrics are ontop then a lid ontop of that so on einsight
daf could have made more useable room in her. you can still stand on the electrics cover and have 6ft headroom to get dressed. the bed is the same width as a DAF 95 but after all these moans that cab was available in the uk in IICR1976 and the space cab roof came in 1984
i think the Trans con was a large cab but ford fitted to many windows this made the cab very cold where the 3300 was very well insulated
cool in summer and warm in winter the roof extension is nealy 2ins thick insulation keeping the heat out in summer.
