I´m driving this Truck in the Moment

My truck, I normally pull containers but had a curtain on the last couple of days.

I’ve posted a pic of the lorry before, but I took this the other day and it’s my new favourite photo.

Ooh… A&D Logistics. The only company I’ve seen tesco trucks overtaking.[emoji1] [emoji1] Are you guys forced to drive that slowly by your gaffer?

Ye m8, they like us sitting at 48-50 saving fuel, if were going south 52 -53 is ok. I found it strange at first but you kind of get used to it. Paid by the hour

I think I overtook 2 trucks this week both Tesco lol.

Mine aint got it but all the newer one’s have dynofleet and they keep a good eye on it, ecoroll, use of brakes, ect.

I must admit, I’ve got a new Actros and I leave it in economy mode all the time. It limits your speed in cruise control to 52.8mph and it stops you constantly catching up with other trucks, then having to try and overtake them for about 5 miles. Much more relaxed drive and it honestly doesn’t impact journey times that much.

Ye it makes a difference m8, I’m averaging 9mpg and am normally heavy all the time with loaded boxes and some days have a lot of stop starting on local work.
I just set C/C at 49-50mph all the time on m/way.

The new Actros takes some beating on the fuel return though, My m8 drives one for Filshill.

Mick from Filshill? He’s on here. His username is Fallmonk.

Had this one on trial a couple of weeks ago fuel returns were impressive can’t do mpg my normal trips I was getting 29lts per 100km my current one returns 45 per 100km she has done 400 k though so getting a bit tired. Still don’t like the auto box though

Ye same Mick we’ve been m8’s over 20 years now, we first met back in the late 80’s early 90’s in the fruit market.

I wasnt keen on the whole auto thing myself but there all going that way now.
But I got to admit the I-shift my Volvo very rarely puts a foot wrong, only criticism is it seems to like to block shift up 2 at a time which can be anoying loaded on the hills.

Why is my pic upside down grr anyway this was also on trial fuel figures not so impressive 35lts/100kms but the auto box did impress me it needed a bit of intervention from time to time but mostly it was in the right gear when I wanted it. Renault is now Volvo so same box and tech perhaps

Yes the Renault shares the same running gear as Volvo, I think Renault use there own software for the box though and i hear it’s even better than the Volvo. Last Renault I had the misfortune to be in was a g290 with the old slap across b18 box so anything would be an improvement

I had a new premium with a job early 2000 a 410 it couldn’t pull the skin of a rice pudding! The previous job I had ERF EC 385 it was way better the the Renault on hills

Is everyone posting these after an afternoon on the beer!!!

after two weeks in a brand new FH, I got a call this friday saying that I would have to move out of it and into a somewhat older 105.510
which got me seriously thinking about finding a new job…

it’s not a bad truck, it’s just different - whereas a scandinavian truck can be compared to a surgeons scalpel - precise but fragile, a DAF is like a hammer. but the interior is great and the ride is much better on bad roads, even with the tag up.

Quick question why do you see so many French lorries of all makes minus their sun visor are they an optional extra over there?
