It is entirely possible, we have a talented web designer who takes care of all the technical side, he is allways improving the anti spam measures, I think I need to have words tho as I really don’t want him snooping at members pm’s, tho I am not sure if it would be him or my mrs who hacked it to include such a function,think I had better be finding out!!!
Buycrider has kindly forwarded to me the message he recieved via e-mail.
It is the standard automated warning sent out on all mails sent from this software and states clearly that the message was sent via e-mail Not private message.
Hope this clears up the misunderstanding and members are reassured that the Stasi do not have access to Private messages or e-mails sent via the forum.

To clarify for all… When a mail is sent via the forum the top part of the mail looks like this
Everything shown here is automaticaly added by the system to the e-mail you sent

No its not a happy ending…everyone keeps talking about spam…now in this household they keep talking about it as well…i do it with chips…with mash…with peas ( not mushy )…and still i get grief…i say keep the flag flying…and everyone get the tin openers out…or if you live in a posh part of the country…you may get a little key with your tin…but dont mention spam…or the war again…i hope rikki likes spam as well.

As co owner of another site I am pretty clued up, we use the same software too and as admin I can read members pm’s on there, I can even log on as them if I choose to do so!!!
You can modify the users profile and change their password THEN log in to their account and read messages but as far as I was aware you couldn’t just look at their account and their PMs?
Or is this software so radically different from PHPBB■■?
Either way, PMs are private and will stay private!
