These are the only photos I have been able to find so far, all taken in Bonsall
There are several reasons for this. When I worked for a living only the weekends and odd holidays were available to take photos. This also depended upon the weather, where I was actually trying to aim for (distances etc) and when able, trying to take a decent photo should there be anything parked up and not behind locked gates!!! As you can appreciate, I can travel many miles and even then find ‘bu–er all’, then a complete wasted and expensive journey, (the worst being almost 200). It is often a case of ‘Sod’s Law’, when talking to owners or drivers, to be told ‘You should have been here yesterday’ there was a yard full!!!
Derbyshire is quite large and to try and find trucks to photo which are hidden away can take ages, if at all. I can however take some comfort in the fact that I have been able to amass what I have over the past 30+ years. There are 24 albums, each containing 144 prints when full on 8 wheelers alone, mostly tippers, powder tankers or anything with a ‘hiab’ on. There are other albums with artics, 4 and 6 wheelers, plus all the plant. I do however realise that this pales into insignificance when compared with others, but I do have a life and pursue other interests, which again eat into any free time that I may have.
Taking photos, for me is a hobby and not a vocation!!!

PS I will look in the other albums to see if there are more on Bonsall
Well Barry, allow me to be the first to commend you for your efforts 30 odd years ago. The photographs themselves are excellent, both in quality and choice. As you say there were lots of tippers in our area back then and to take pics of each and every one would have run into ££££s and not enough hours in the day to record them all so to have seen, in the instances of too many I care to say, the ones you have uploaded has more than made my day.
You Sir, are a true gent for uploading these pics and I am truly glad you took the time and trouble garnering these pics all those years ago. Making an old chap very happy.
thanks indeed barry , a great selection . some i’ve driven , a lot i’ve run with and a fair few local to me that i was familiar with , saw every day . it is good to see them and conjour up the memories of when it was a proper job . cheers , dave

Many thanks as ever Barry. Love the shots from the Buxton area. The Reiver of Trevor Blounts was his pride and joy. Ex Tarmac and he looked after it rather well. That was until the cab mutt he always carried round with him was jumping round the cab and released the hand brake and caused it to smash into a wall and write off the cab. Not seen a pic of that lorry til today and remember it well from 1987.
I’m so glad you took these photos! You got any pics of Fodens or even Routemans from the Peak District area?

Brilliant Barry/Gloves,hope you keep finding the tippers, looking at the 6 wheeler GTO962V.Butlers had GTO 953V to 958V 8 wheelers when Tarmac took over.Paul.
another lot of cracking pics, I remember loads of them, even repaired some
Agree with Moose, another belting lot of pics. The pick being Billy Duncan’s six wheeler ERF closely followed by one of Eldon Hill’s fleet lorries and Glen Garlick’s Reiver. That job was opposite Ferodo and was exclusively Eldon’s when the bypass was being built. Many thanks for posting.
Barkers Sed Ak and long loaf the Cargo, also looks like S Dales first 6 wheeler
D Evans from Parwich drove the Hoben Foden
