“Chirpy” Alan Statham now drives a bulk blower 8 wheeler for Geo. L Whites out of Lindum Mill, Shepshed, he did a bag delivery round with a curtainsided Leyland Freighter before he finished at Johnson’s, his brother John drove the Bedford TM, this was mainly used as an inter mill transfer vehicle when I used to deliver for Johnsons

Used to unload Chirpy when i drove forklift for Millers in wolverhampton,1st job after school, cracking lad always got him on his way asap, when i passed my hgv and went to johnsons to collect,he returned favour and jumped on forklift and got me away,ta,Pete

I see Alan’s truck’s parked in his yard most days but didn’t know where he worked from until now. That’s cleared that up!

Good enough to go back to work, how you getting on with hooklift?

Err,not started yet pete ,iam thinking of putting the crane behind the cab 800mm wide ,then the hook gear 6100mm over all ,which will be 800mm past the rear air bag giving enough room for the stab jack ,it’s 5000mm hook to roller so iam thinking a body of 6500mm ish ?

Sounds ok,body length inside your 1.5m overhang, just watch turning tight with rear axle up! If you can wait till next week i’ll do my best to find piping\wiring diagram,ta,Pete
