Dennis, Have attached a brochure for the Guy Light Warrior 6 &8 wheeler and it mentions the trailing axle.
Also found an advert in the archives for a Guy Invincible from the same era and intrestingly it mentions
Primrose Engineering and TGB Motors like you mentioned.
In cant remember exactly when they changed from orange to red Buzzer but they run a fair few motors out of the two mills at Poole and must have
employed alot of people. Both the old mills now long gone with a large Asda and other stuff on one and flats on the other which was on Poole quay.
That Seddon used to always be shown at The Great Dorset Steam Fair.
Heres some of there motors from the 70s/80s and an old article where they use to load / unload boats alongside Poole quay.

4Ritsons Haulage of Liverpool were took over by Hillsdown Holdings but went into receivership in 1990 after a five week strike.
They also had a depot in Avonmouth were Bubbleman took this picture below of one of their KV ERF’s in 1978.321
0 One of Ritson’s early motors was this eight wheeler Mammoth Major flat, complete with removable cool box.
My dad drove this KV and also 343 EYO with Gardner 6LW on local runs, both owned by Union Cartage out of Kirkby depot later to get a fleet of Big J 4T and single axle fridge trailers, Ritsons took over the Kirkby depot (1970) after UCC pulled out.

Spent hours as a kid in the 2 Christopher Hills mills in Poole. There are loads of Christopher Hills motors on here if you do a search but dont think
there were any Bedford TK’s or Mandator’s from memory. Heres an AEC Marshall they operated and there is a E.J.Thomas F86 on page 575.

Hi all, when i said i went from Christopher Hill to E.J.Thomas i said it was with Curly Watts it should have been Curly Haskell. my mistake.
You will remember E.F.Phillips also doing continental work as well as running tippers. They operated Leyland Octopuses as well as the
AEC Mammoth Majors and later on Leyland Constructor’s.
