I think the Guy Big J artic is one of Gunness Hauliers from Keadby Scunthorpe.
Morning Dean.I think the ERF 8-legger tipper is one of C H Jones from Walsall area - Pete Smith will know them.

I seem to remember somebody at the quarry saying that Maurice Hill either worked there or had a truck in there many years ago, well before I started there though.

Maurice Hill - Kirkby in Ashfield - Nottinghamshire - still going strong!!! Seem to do a lot of concrete reinforcements
I put this photo of Paul’s on FB to try n find out what’s what with the axle lift,no joy ! Anyone know ?
I’ve heard of lorries that when you tip driver can hook axle to body then let it down to lift axle .
I just assumed it was a nomal lifting axle? Obviously a single drive! I think the first ones I really noticed were on the Volvo F86 six wheelers that Ogdens had at Ivonbrook quarry in the mid 70’s.
Pete.

Re: the post on Maurice Hill, unless my old memory is playing tricks on me i’me almost sure I remember the Crusaders had the Rollers taken out and were replaced by 8 pot Gardners
Is there anyone out there who knows ?

I remember Albion Concrete Products Llangadog had 2 Bedford KMs flatbeds i know one was F reg 1968 the other was either E or F reg and they were converted by York to 6 wheelers and they had a loadtransfer lift axle did not lift as high as the Albion Primrose also did a lift axle conversion as well

“tastrucker”]“DEANB”Blackmores Machinery ERF . I think we may have had one on before, rings a bell.
Hello DEAN ,their is a Elliot Blackmore from Bicton Shrewsbury ,but that is not one of their wagons ,must be a different one thank you Trevor
I think Elliot Blackmore used to do bulk work - Here is a more recent Blackmores Machinery - a rather smart Volvo Tridem and drag
Good pic Paul. Thats a serious bit of kit, i imagine the truck was more than £200,000 without the trailer.

One of two TMs operated by Dave Hatswell a stubby to TNT Deeside, other RMB530V was in yellow IPEC colours

Hi Dean ,
Thanks for that Wynns clipping they had 2 Antars ! That must be quite a rare photo ,plus a BRS Newport Albion 8 Caledonian thrown in for good measure
Enjoyed your TM parade that featured Ellis Morgan from Blackwood regards Keith
Wynns never owned those 2 Antars Keith but there drivers drove them for the Australian Hydro Electricity company.
Thanks for the other comments.

Did they ever run any Guys ?

Hi Dean, great stuff been put up again, well done…ok the Maggie is one of HT Transport of Westbury and the ERF of Talbots was from Merlins Bridge ,Haverfordwest…they were fruit and veg people and I used to deliver to the Kraft creamery which were opposite their place, she is now preserved,Cheers Bubbs,
You did well to spot the HT Transport Maggie out Bubbs. Heres one of there’s on contract to Celcon.
Thanks for the comments and pic on Talbot’s. I wonder if they had a depot in the North as this looks like a Talbot Scania and it
has the T and other initials on the door like the ERF. It seems strange to be buying it in Manchester if they dont have a depot
that way ?

Thanks for your comments Andrew. Some of these pics are a bit dodgy and Paul was not gonna post them ,but i think it

There were a few companies that did conversions fitting lifting axles. Heres a advert from York although its for a trailer.
Cant find any rigid conversion info at the moment but have stuff somewhere.
DeanB wrote ‘Secretly i think you have a thing about those F86’s Pete’ !
Obviously it was that much of a secret that even I didn’t know about it Dean? Rest assured that I never was a fan of ‘Swedish Reivers’…
