Hello DEAN ,i think Paul ,is impressed with A E Goughs ! The Atkinson car transporter maybe Chester Car Transporters ,though i dont remember them having any Atkis ,thank you Trevor

The Atki car transporter was a firm called Commercial Collections

A B Carter were Lechlade/Highworth based I think - somewhere in that area. They also had a rigid tipper or two running from the local quarries

Buzzer:
tastrucker Caddy was great mates with Jim Rawlings of A.S.Rawlings from Alton and they ran lots of F89’s so may be it was Jim who influenced the buy or maybe second hand from ASR. those two used to go on holiday together to the USA and Jim told me one day that Caddy would try and barter the price even in a diner and when they hired a car he wanted a cheap version but Jim said we are on our hols lets have a Cadillac, cheers Buzzer

Hello buzzer and Dean ,the Caddy F89 ,was NNT…M ? it was the only example and from what i can make out they did not have any F12s, and the Scanias were all 111s ,thank you Trevor

Hi Trevor ,Caddies had a few DAFs as well would see them loading up at Llanwern ,and a Knighton based driver had one regards Keith

Hello Keith ,yes Caddies had a few DAFs the Knighton driver did a lot of Shotton work ,steel for Brangwyn at Gorseinon, but he also did fridge work as well ,thank you Trevor

Thanks Trev, would see them in that area regularly ,and at 3Ms Gorseinon ,regards Keith

Ironic really that a company from Preston were Atkinson lorries were built should also be called Atkinson.
R Atkinson was part of a number of other companys which included Atkinson Trailer Hire, Longton Haulage and Ainsworth & Martin.
Each company seemed to be owned by different combinations of the directors of R Atkinson but working from different phones in the same premises.
Chris Gardner no doubt can fill in the gaps.

Hi Dean, Greenall Whitley was one of the biggest breweries in the North West of England.
Greenalls were based in St Helens and Warrington, and had hundreds of pubs in Lancashire,
■■■■■■■■■■■ Westmorland, Cheshire, and North Wales, and possibly some further afield.
