Great work must be a full time job putting all these pictures
See if you can get a Lottery grant & an EU hand out
but reason for the post is the white 1900 DAF is Mr Westmore from the New Forest & he still has it.
Looking at the two Foden Haulmaster pics it makes me wonder just how many operators specced them with only a single drive back end? I know that Horace Kendrick and British Salt had a few as well.

No one recognise Trent Wharfage ■■ I reckon they must have been a fair size as have a few pics

I remember them as well, either based in Gainsborough or Newark. I think they had a depot in Gloucestershire, near the Severn?
Coming late to the party again! Trent Wharfage’s Gloucestershire depot was at Sharpness Dock. They ran quite a few Dennis artics with Perkins V8 motors.
Hi Dean confirm the yellow Scania is De Rijke who indeed bought out Sayers of Thatcham near Newbury, after this one of the boys ran a wrecker, the F86 is one of Sibley’s (Material Movements) and the J.Alford Scania was indeed from Nursling, Southampton now retired Jimmy &Jo Alford ran the company, think he still owns the yard but may be wrong on that one, cheers Buzzer.

"Chris Webb"Morning Dean,another fine set of photos,thanks.
I like the Shepherd Volvo pic, quite a big firm in Sheffield at one time and even bigger now after taking over RDB Freightlines.
I can’t remember what the “M” stood for in MRS but they were commonly known as Muppet Road Services, having a depot in Chesterfield but based somewhere in Scotland.I heard one or two stories about them, whether true or not I don’t know.
Iirc , they started with a fleet of vans , Morning Roll Supplies up in Scotland . Could be wrong due to decayed brain cells .
Thanks for the comments Chris and Dave.

"steelboyf10"“tastrucker”"steelboyf10]Springfield, are quite a player out of Shotton now, used to run this motor when they had a yard near the football ground
Hello steelboy ,is that the same Springfield from Broxton ?,thought they finished years ago ,thank you Trevor
Hi trev,
Sort of, you mean Diesel ■■■■, from Broxton, in the picture, joined forces with keith ■■, an OD on with George Mayes at the time, they I think (and some one on here will know / put us right), used to get into Shotton under Springfield, and the gang grew with a few ODs, into (maybe ) what it is today??, they used to park at a garage on the Common in Buckley, near Shones yard in the 90’s, not 100% sure on how they got to the business they are today. The F10 did a bit over sea’s I seem to remember, cant recall the OD who had it, remember doing it for MOT one year in Shones workshop, in 1985
Good to Hargreaves on the tread, another Shotton haulier, have 8 leggers and units with 240 , 8 pot Gardners in them
Keep it going boys!..Barry Waddy will maybe know a bit on this topic■■?

Thanks for the comments and info Trevor,Steelboyf10.

Newport Haulage services did the same work when backloading from the Midlands , MT
Not sure who the Scania belongs to as the unit is a different colour scheme to the trailer.

Hi Dean, Yes, I had 2 Mercedes Benz 1820 box vans, They were perfect for my operation.
Although they were 17 tons G.V.W., they seldom carried more than 3 tons, because of the
nature of the stuff that was on board. They regularly returned between 15 & 17 M.P.G.
Both of them are seen here on Abington Services on the M74 in Scotland. Ray Smyth.
A couple more pictures of one of my Mercedes Benz 1820 box vans.
N173 DWX is parked up for the night on a secluded layby on the A338
near Winterbourne Gunner, having delivered to several Military sites
on Salisbury Plain. The second picture sees N173 DWX parked near
Berwick Upon Tweed, en route from Dundee and Leven, heading for
Berghaus Garments at Jarrow. The 3rd picture is inside the depot at
Cricket Street in Wigan. Because most of the equipment and goods
that we carried had Government or Military or Police connections,
the lorries had either to be in locked premises overnight, or if they
were on a Night Out, the driver was not allowed to leave the lorry
unattended, or discuss with anybody about what he was carrying.
Mansells Volvo F88, this was Sterling Mansell from Horwich Nr Bolton, manufacturers of toilet rolls, the yard / warehousing was demolished and there now stands a Tesco…

Yellow Scania tank, is an ex Sayers of Newbury, bought out by DeRijke , the firm not the truck.
That particular Scania, one of two, was bought secondhand by R H Stevens of Macclesfield. They were tidy machines even though they had had two former owners. If you look carefully you can just make out the name on the driver’s door.
