Tacho’s, what tacho’s, don’t understand what you saying Willis
Couple of years ago there was a major crash with a “convoi exceptionnel” and a TGV, it was somewhere inbetween Amberieu en Bugey and Pont d’Ain if I remember correctly. In this case the haulier or more like the driver was to blame, as he and his pilots went to search for an alternative route, as the main route was blocked off due to roadworks. They found a route that was ok-ish to drive over, but there was one railway crossing. Due to the camber of the road and the crossing, the low loader got stuck and they didn’t had enough time to lift the hydraulic suspension, as the barriers came down… didn’t end well for the driver, not sure if the train driver survived.
Which one is that Spardo? I’d like to have a look at it.
Amused me too about the American English spelling but completely ignored “previous” which should have been “prior” in the context.
HERE HERE, WELL LOST IN THIS NEW MAZE

Not sure it is permissable to link it here, if I hear nothing soon to the contrary I will do, otherwise I’ll email you tomorrow.
That’s it indeed! I feel things are gradually getting back to normal, and we simply have to do with the changes. Let’s consider ourselves happy that TN is back on the road again, thanks to all of you!
Once again, this happened because they did not check properly the secureness of the route. Moreover the administration should have known roadworks were scheduled, and planned another route.
Thanks Ro, things are starting to get a bit clearer now although I would prefer to have the old user-friendly format back.
Me too! Nice set of ERFs.
Heard nothing to the contrary, so here it is:
I have it listed in my bookmarks as Canadian but later realised that I had first arrived somehow via the Canadian section. It is definitely American.
@buzzer I have been in touch with Dig but don’t know his intentions at the moment.
Indeed Paul, but it shows you that even with a lot of careful planning and sticking to an actual permit route, it can go horribly wrong in just a few seconds.
Cheers Spardo, I’ll have a look. Anything about heavy haulage on there?
Spotted this parked near me yesterday, liked the nod to the dafs of old with the model number under the side window.
Yes, there is a section, I’ll have a look later see if I can find it again, not that easy to get used to though.
