Like Leyland WF I actually preferred the TJ to the TK.

Looks brand new think 1968 loaded but now the real work has to be done, Buzzer

Weather looks ok try to get out the gate with just a fly sheet chucked over it.
Maybe not even that if no one is looking.

Impressive options list.

Don’t ask me why but I always liked the looks of the F7

Yep Volvo F7 a great little truck.
I used to drive a rough arsed SedAtk for National Carriers which always broke down.
We were in same yard as BRS truck rental, so I ended up driving an array of different (and better than mine) trucks.
The F7 I had for months, it was a lovely little truck.
It was the first motor imo, that was just like driving a car…as all modern trucks are today.

Well there’s a thing, like a phoenix, Buzzer

Like the Renault G290 I hated the thing with a vengeance Rob.
A car doing the job of a truck sums it up.

A couple of Steve Butler photos(Gaydon) to rouse GOM.

The first of those photos rings a bell.
Who was the company in Tipton that used to take in empty SeaTrain boxes?
We often took boxes off 201(?) Berth in So’ton, unstuffed them, and took the empties there, then loaded our flat trailers for home.
They always found some damage on them, often on the underside that the drivers could not have seen, and tried charging for repairs.

SeaTrain were mainly on the Atlantic boats if I remember correctly, and carried steel coils around the Midlands in 20ft or bulk dried apple in 40ft for the cider factories.

Shame Kamal was not as quick as that at paying lol Plus the rate when you did get paid was much like the load you had been carrying.
Nancanko was a good job / rate till they came in and took over, Paul is still about but Brian left us some years ago now.

I drove a Super Mastiff once. Surprisingly comfortable motor to pilot.

Where’s Dennis when we need him

Well i suppose it’s a law of averages … i actually agree with CF on his verdict of the Renault 290 GT .But then he champions the 2800 ATI .They may have been good at 32 tons but 38 very very average. I came back from Italy in one with 15 tons on it with two more of our fleet. A Renault 340 and an Iveco 190 30 fully loaded. They left it for dead on every hill. Very ponderous.
