Thank you for the information
The other union which was really just for drivers was/is the URTU, United Road Transport Union, the one I joined when I got fed up with the bigger one. No idea which, but Shell drivers would have been unionised in one only union I would have thought.
But more importantly, I noticed last week that the Les Routiers that used to be there (Chalons sud) is gone. They’ve knocked it all down and replaced it with some sort of shopping thing…
Interesting workplace David😉
No idea about that truck, but no doubt a Chinese or Japanese brand? Do you mind if I post it elsewhere to gather some info on it?
There were two or three quite close together weren’t there?
Mistral? the Footballer’s? A N Other??
The Ugly Sisters at Macon S has an Aldi on the main parking.
Couldn’t think of the name, but its The Ugly Sisters I was referring to Franglais, cheers.
The Mistral was Chalons Sud, got them mixed up, that has been closed for at least a decade now? Word was that Eric took his own life?
I went there a few times, but not often, so sorry no idea.
Of course, go for it, I’ll ask him if there were more when we next speak, but a time difference of 7 hours makes it a bit hit and miss.

Navistar David, they had some tie up with International, before becoming Iveco.
Interestingly, CAT had a glut of nonconpliant (emissions) engines that had to be fitted before 2010, IIRC, the engines were fitted to Navistar trucks and branded and sold by CAT. The only time CAT have sold complete road trucks.
So sell’em in China then, they’ll breath anything.
Just hope it wasn’t ticking over when Davy walked past.
The CAT deal was only in Australia, as the noncompliance was ADR (Australian Design Rules) related.
Someone who can identify a truck by just looking at the bolts, says it’s a FAW Jiefang. Never heard of it before, but at least we can put a name on it now😉
No point asking Davey, he has no interest in wagons.
