I hope the last one isn’t your usual standard of driving Patrick , I would love to know how it ended up in such a mess .
Whoever did it must be awarded 100% for effort .

All interesting photos but as to the last one, how would you do that? It didn’t crash into those doors and pretty sure it didn’t crash into anything, no damage at the front. Dropped from a height?

Wagons MB used for testing… in the bottom pic, the flexibilty of the chassis was being tested…

No doubt, Mr. Pete Smith will have something to say about all this in 3…2…1…

Did they pour molten cast iron in the mixer until the chassis folded?

Hiya Rigsby, you’re alright mate? No, even if I’d tried really hard, I wouldn’t be able to end up like that, only the true professionals can pull such a trick

Not sure what they were brewing in the mixer Paul, but I’ve seen a photo of a old and battered F10 or F12 some years ago, and the chassis just cracked after years of abusing at the Antwerp docks and shifting leaking containers with chemicals in it…

It might have rolled over at a construction site David?

.NGGENWIL.
The 22-year-old drove the truck from Zuzwil towards Zuckenriet. In front of the “Neuberg” hill, the truck got to the right and collided with three concrete posts, a tree, and was then hurled into the air. At a height of more than two meters, the vehicle collided with a barn, turned and came to a standstill in front of the barn door. In addition to the team of an ambulance, the Niederhelfenschwil fire department was on duty. The truck suffered a total loss of around CHF 30,000. The damage to the environment and the barn is likely to be more than 20,000 francs. It is unclear why the accident occurred. The truck was secured by the prosecutor for further investigations. (pd)

Still a pile of crap PV!

Hi Oily,
A while ago you asked Dave the Renegade (RIP) and myself about this Scania, it was operated by a lad from Telford named Pete Harris, he had 4 trucks in total, only taken 5 years! Cheer’s Pete

Old photo of service station at Fort Augustus, still there and a Spar shop attached which stocks a very good range of single malts up to 90% proof!

Ta Pete! Hope the young driver got away without any serious injuries, but looking at the cab I think he did, as that still looks intact. See, that’s Merc quality for ya right there Pete!

Impressive wreck certainly. I am surprised that the damages are quoted in CHF-Swiss currency. The vehicle looks a look scruffier than those I normally see there (one of my sons lives in Switzerland). But Zuzwil is a village near Bern. Trucks in Switzerland are quite tightly controlled by the authorities.

0NMP. Well loaded Albion.

Maybe well loaded Dave, but not a roping job that would have been done by me. All his hitches bar the front one must be on the other side, so either he is an Aussie with lots of seperate pieces (unlikely) or his returns haven’t been tensioned. His last crossover is hitched at the front and then he has attempted to tension all the others with the long tail. :open_mouth:

Perhaps he was hoping that the bags would settle tightly into each other. :unamused:

And to Patrick and the bent mixer, I wasn’t far wrong then was I, except I reckoned a drop from more than 2 metres without hitting anything else on the way. A very lucky bloke in my opinion.

Oily, some from your part of the world.
