This would sort the men from the boys ! I’m in the boy group, although I came within a gnats doo dah of one being my first drive. Got a M M Foden instead. Cheers Coomsey

Judging by the " Gatechange " and gear lever, I think it is a bonneted Scammell.
Other levers are to do with High and low range, and possibly something else,
and the lever without a gear knob looks like a ratchet Handbrake.

Eddie, I have also spotted the rear facing ■■■■■■■■■■■, perhaps it is a crew cab of a Pickfords tractor.
Cheers, Ray.

The cab interior view could well be a Scammell Constructor or Super Constructor going off the windows and the screens opened in a similar way too. Franky.

I still think I should have had counselling, for a young lad (like wot I was) it was a terrible experience. Grown men crying while queueing on the dock road when the ‘foreman’ said “come back in 3 days lad” :smiling_imp:
I will not discuss Liverpool dockers. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Well it was standing joke , A little boy asked his Mam, Wheres my Dad, She replied he has been detained by the Scouce lot at Gladston dock waiting to offload, He just might get home for Xmas, The boy said but thats still five days to go, :astonished: :astonished: :astonished: , Regards Larry.

it could have been the Albion EN900 engine, a 15.2 litre lump that Leyland made into its P.900 engine, used mainly in plant and rail cars.

Liverpool docks. Came down with a full load of whisky from Dumbarton, 1966. Arrived late afternoon and told them I would be back in the morning, but they wanted it NOW!. I didn’t have change for the hired labour so took off my sheets and rolled them and went out onto the Dock Rd to look for a pub. Found one with the World Cup on the telly so settled down with my pint to watch the match then returned to the bond to give them the fiver and collect the wagon, it was empty and, watched by some knackered dockers (all handball of course) I lifted my sheets back on, made them secure and drove away. Don’t know who won the match but RESULT!!

Another end of life Ergo, this time its a Leyland,
and again the miracle of a intact screen…

Back to Liverpool Docks, (not literally), I confess i never had the pleasure of visiting
the docks proper, though i did have occasion to frequent premises off Regent Road.
My real memory of the docks was a ride on the Liverpool Overhead Railway in the 50s
Not too long before it closed. I remember seeing the liner, Empress of Canada, lying
on her side in dock… She had caught fire and so much water was pumped into her she
keeled over…If only i had had a camera, and the money to have the pics developed,.!!
