My eyes are probably deceiving me, but it just looks as if the front axle has got a negative camber…?

I’m not fed up with them, but they have reminded me just how many lorries of quality Atkinson sold over the years and set me to wondering, why did the company need to be sold?

I do remember the rumours at the time of prospective buyers, Foden for one, but don’t remember what went wrong. :frowning:

This Leyland Roadtrain was at the 21st Leyland Gathering at Leyland, Lancshire today, July 7th.
I am grateful to “DIESEL” , the owner of the Leyland, for the wee bottle of “Speyburn” single
malt whisky, and the other goodies that he gave me. The loaded trailer would look alright on
the “Roping & Sheeting” thread.

Kind Regards, Ray Smyth.

Terribly sorry for hijacking your thread Oily, but I’ve found some stuff in a old shoe box (NMP) which might jog some memories

This must be the oldest Albion drawbar on TN?

Hi PV 83 a great set of photos posted here, the 8 wheel Foden loaded with what looks like a coal loading hopper appears to be in the Distington Engineering Company yard at Workington withthe steel works slag banks as a backdrop. The very old Albion drawbar outfit hails from Aberdeen with an RS registration plus Holburn St (an Aberdeen city street)is painted on the chock rail.
Cheers, Leyland 600.

.

The Bowring Albion tanker has an unusual and interesting cab, with a somewhat French touch of the mid 1930s.

Thanks Patrick for having greeted us with so many great pictures!
