I used to live about half a mile from Marshall’s yard which is now sadly gone and now there’s a retail park and supermarket on the site

Out and about today, got some snow to day to.

Found this odd looking one any ideas?

Hi possibly a JENSEN. although I have never seen or heard of a six wheeler.
Cheers, Leyland 600

Six-stud wheels would mean it wouldn’t carry too much weight in tube.

Thanks to backsplice, DEANB, adr, gazsa401 and Dirty Dan for the pics      brilliant variety

Hi Ivor. All well thanks, had a lot on lately & computer went bang so had to get new one with scanner etc, I 'm crap with them really so have to get the better-half to work it out & then show me, very slowly :unamused:  how it works, hope you keeping well. I will have a look but other than his old Drivers handbook (shown) I don’t think I’ve got anything else from his BRS days, & when he passed away all his Transport stuff was left to me. I have also put on a pic of Dad by his car taken in 1957 on holiday in Cornwall, I would imagine yourself & Eddie will remember him like this  Regards Chris

Would help if I added the pics :unamused:   Chris

What a great picture. The authorities would probably have a heart attack…

You would still get away with it in India though.

Hi Chris , Thanks for your post, the picture of Charlie -first class and exactly how i remembered him ,the car ? Austin ? cheers a nice keepsake. 1957 i think i had left BRS Oxford by then and back to Ameys where i started from in 49’ toshboy

Hello Leyland 600. I think the Northern bus coming off the Redheugh Bridge is an AEC Reliance with Burlingham Bodywork.
It was part of a 1958 delivery, with fleet numbers 1791 to 1824, reg HCN 91 TO HCN124. The batch was split between Stanley
& Consett Depots with Stanley having the lower numbered half. This photo must have been later in its life, as when new, they were an attractive vehicle with trim to the front & side beading, & possibly being painted differently, red to the waist line & cream above. Quaking Houses has always raised a smile, its a small village near Stanley, Co. Durham, little more than a couple
of streets & in fact a dead end, only one road in & out. Best Wishes pushrod47
