Great picture Buzzer, Thanks for sharing.
I always thought the Scania V8 was a sixties thing but obviously they were in to them way back then.

A few more from the Scania trip this week, Buzzer

Well secured but it does make me wince seeing those straps without sleeves over the shap edges.

Dennis had a message from Wrighty and he said that the cops are looking for a shady mush with a chain saw and your name came up, if I were you get rid of the old Danarm you got in the garden shed else they will be marching you off to the cells    , Buzzer

After writing 6 lines of print on my trip to Scania Sweden this web sight shut the lot off and I aint doing it again, just pics Buzzer

That’s a shame Buzzer i bet it would have been an interesting read. I have been driving a 71 plate Scania for a few months now and its ok but i think the quality isn’t what it was. I came off a 13 year old Daf XF manual which was made obsolete by Bradford Council in the name of clean air. It is now used as a spare from Leeds and some of our new recruits have between them smashed the clutch to bits (i’ve seen the photos) within 2 miles of driving it and another driver doing the synchros in on 5th gear basically because they didn’t want or couldn’t drive it. The Scania is quite comfortable but i can’t get the seat high enough and the switches on the dash keep dropping off. I think they are in the same group as MAN and that could be the reason for the drop in quality.

A sizeable fleet in its day from what I can remember (F H LEE?). I think one of their contracts was delivering toilet rolls although why I remember that fact is beyond me. Could be a lot of crap though
