I am fairly certain that this picture shows the side road between the extremely large Littlewoods Pools
building on the left, and,to the right, the Liverpool Corporation main bus and tram depot at Edge Lane.
The bus on the right appears to be one of their large number of AECs from the early to mid fifties.
Cheers, Ray.
This bread van is from Gaskells Bakery at Pemberton, Wigan. The script on the
picture names it as a D2 International chassis with 15 cwt carrying capacity. Does
anyone know the origin of this make of chassis, was it an American import ?.
Whoops, I have just read all of the script, and it is from International Harvester.
Cheers, Ray.

Charrold body ■■ V shaped, 12 inch (ish) wide conveyor belt in the V, product exits at the back. We had one at Chappells in the early 60’s, very handy bit of kit, the body doesn’t tip.
Thanks!
Charrold Auto Bagger new in 1966, on a Bedford TK chassis.
IIRC total cost was just over £3000.00
