Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

Just see what this does to a popular thread on TNUK, I was the last person to post on this thread nearly two days ago and can understand why, people just dont want the hassel in spending 3 minuets to post an artical and then it goes to refresh and then you lose it all together and the will to live at the same time and give up, you MODS need to sort this its been going on far too long.
On another subject went to Truckfest at Shepton Mallet yesterday and was not impressed at all, My son along with Andrew & Chip entered three trucks, lots of people there expensive to get in and any food even more expensive, loads of grown men acting like kids blowing there air horns with there oversize dinky toys all polished up not for me I’me afraid was glad to get home, four hours travelling there for an hour and a half nuff said, Buzzer.

Hi Buzzer, the DIT crew(FB pics) seemed to be enjoying themselves with the bonus of brill weather. Truck entries expensive?, food expensive flask and sarnies next time so the telling factor would DIT do it again.

Yes, just like the ‘old’ days. But are they perhaps new crates on old, refurbished, trailers?
Doesn’t explain the single decks though.

I.m thinking David that their are stations in the East Kimberly in some extremely rough country and some on the northern coast of West oz that double deckers would probably be extremely unstable so maybe somebody has decided the old way is the best way for moving their stock to market etc.
The truck below would be ideal dont you think.

I reckon it’s a station truck, used to move stock from paddock to paddock or different properties within the company.

Any idea how this semi-trailer unloads? No visible jack, but definitely some hydraulic pipes. Thanks.

Charrold body ■■ V shaped, 12 inch (ish) wide conveyor belt in the V, product exits at the back. We had one at Chappells in the early 60’s, very handy bit of kit, the body doesn’t tip.

A busy evening peak time queue at the Mersey Tunnel in Liverpool in the 1960s.
The two vehicles leaving the tunnel are a Vauxhall and a Bedford. The vehicles
queueing to enter the tunnel are a couple of Fords, a Morris Minor and a Reliant.
