May I draw your attention to my good friend Mr Carryfast who tells me that you can’t have over a hundred ton of anything on a vehicle.
Actually I should have worded it better, my gross weight was over 100 tonne. I’d be carrying 100,00~120,000 litres so 80,000~96,000 kg.
But why would truck manufacturers offer GCMs of 200 tonne, off the shelf, or higher with a selection of beefier components, if 100 tonne plus was not possible?
Thank goodness Carryfast has been put in a home.
I was only joking.
^ Where and when did I supposedly say that ?.
As opposed to Euro land running around with pathetic 5 or 6 axle artics v a typical NZ type 8 or 9 axle drawbar outfit.
Having given up trying to explain the difference and advantage of a train weight v combination weight based outfit regardless.

Is this it?

The plate or sticker may also show a gross train weight ( GTW ), also sometimes called gross combination weight ( GCW ). This is the total weight of the tractor unit plus trailer plus load.

Did you get day release? Do you have a supervisor?

An unnecessary degree of mobbing going on here wouldn’t you agree ? , and it’s been going on for quite some time .
I don’t consider myself to be as knowledgeable or as eloquent as Carryfast , nor am I under any illusion that he needs support from me as I’m convinced that the man’s perfectly capable of standing his own corner, but I’ve witnessed similar on other forums .
It’s water off a duck’s back as far as he’s concerned, I realise that much, but how about giving the bloke a break eh ? Have a go at me for a change if you like. At the end of the day all that we are is a bunch of washed out ■■■■■■■ lorry drivers anyway.

Is that what ?.Other than the government stating an oxymoron, not me.There is no weight transfer or imposition between the component carriages of a ‘train’ just like in the case of a 32t rigid pulling a 40t drawbar trailer. That advantage is obviously magnified and can only get better as weight requirements increase.
By definition GTW ain’t the same thing as GCW.
What does the wheel do that the Bainbridge driver is holding on to? If it winds the door shut that would leave the handbrake outside. In any case the handbrake makes entry difficult
