I remember William Nichol’s AECs and Leylands hauling long steel gas pipes from Stewart & Lloyds down through Carlisle when the North Sea Gas pipelines were being installed.

Thanks to all who posted all those memory jogging pictures. I didn’t drive most of them but they were mostly still around when I was a youngster. I started driving all sorts of heavies in the late 60’s with Fodens, Leylands etc.
