Tidy looking motor and a nicely sheeted load.

Hi Oily, Eddie Waugh has not posted anything for a long while, I have known him since about 1967 when he drove for Wm McMurdo of Sanquahar and latterly saw him at truck rallys in the south of Scotland (Biggar & Dumfries) when he displayed the many very detailed models of Scottish lorrys from the 1950s to 70s he had made over the years. I understand his health has not been good these last few years.
Cheers Leyland 600.[/Hi G, Eddie (erfguy) has suffered with the dreaded dementia for a couple of years now.
Cheers
Oily

Hi Oily, thanks for the update I had heard E had suffered a serious illness stroke or other affliction. Always enjoyed a chat and a look at his highly detailed hand made lorry models especially the ones local to him ie Dumfries & Galloway, Ayrshire and Lanakshire plus many other well nown old fleets.
Cheers, Leyland 600
Hi Dan, although living just 6 miles away and having delivered to a few farms in that district some 40 plus years ago although I still have connections with he farming community I have not come across that name. Did you get a good meal in the Rose & Crown ? I have heard it has a good reputation.
Cheers, Leyland 600
I like Geromino riding in his Cadillac, he had a good long life. I wonder if he ever drove it himself?
Pete.

Geronimo is actually behind the wheel, and the car is a Locomobile and not a Cadillac! Geronimo was incarcerated at the time in Fort Sill, he was only ‘brought out’ for exhibitions and parades and to embarass him even more they made him wear ‘white mans clothes’ and he never ever owned a car. Not one of the USA’s finest acheivements.

I have a " Granary " keyring from my 18 years as a registered carrier with Rank Hovis from 1979 until 1997.
Also, a picture of my 2 ex Rank Hovis Ford D1311 D series curtainsided lorries. Despite being a registered
carrier for Rank Hovis, and delivering their products for many years, their names and signwriting had to
be removed from the vehicles, so I hand painted them. I got about 4 years service from both Fords.
