Do you or others know what the BM in the name means?
Bolinder-Munktell, had a very solid reputation, Volvo bought them out I believe, but kept on using the BM initials for a long time.
Bolinder made single cylinder diesel engine for application in canal boats, the starting method was a peg in the fly wheel and kick start it!

Congratulations on 700 pages Oily. Been given this photo from a mate it was his first proper HGV job. Pearson’s were a construction company and based at Middlesbrough and photo was taken in 1975 with a Priestman Mustang on the back ready to go up to the construction site at Kielder water.

That motor is still around in preservation jshepguis, Pearsons were based at Stainton village just outside of the 'Boro. Well done on 700 pages Oily, I have made at least one small addition to this excellent thread, keep it up sir.
