The idea behind it was that you could tip the rigid without dropping the trailer and do 2 deliveries in the same trip, hence thevlong drawbar, i think the idea came from sweden originally, i remember seeing it in cm

Leyland600:
The company you are thinking of was Eastham Kitchen Furniture who operated two or three Leyland Tiger Cubs with locally built bodywork. I cannot remember the name of the body builder but will find out from a friend who does know.
Update Sun 18th Oct. The bodies were built by a small company at Treales near Kirkham called Rawstrone & Hewitson.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
hello Leyland 600 ,yes those are the ones ,i can remember ,thank you Trevor

Looks like ex military Leyland DROPS (Dismountable Rack Offload and Pickup System), I did a course on these many moons ago, they would deliver pallets of Artillery ammo on the racks to a rear echelon area, drop the rack/racks and Eager Beaver Forklift trucks would take a pallet or pallets to a Gun position or depending on distance further load them onto Bedford’s for them to take them to the rear Gun area and the Gunners would handball the containers of shells and cartridge cases off, strip them down and stack the required amount of ammo at each different Gun in a Battery of six, where the ammo would be made ready to be fired when called on. These vehicles and trailers would be very handy tools for civilian Plant moving hauliers just as the military also used them for and probably why these ones have been bought and repainted. Franky.
